Great win for Danby

WHAT a pleasant change from last year! Sunday's second round of the current British Trials championship, the St Davids was promoted, as always, by the Neath Motor Club, with three laps of 12 rocky sections on their Llety Rafel farm venue.
The event was run on the hottest day of the yearso far, and left not one single mark on the land, much to the relief oflandowners, Mr Richards and family, who had so much damage to repairafter last year's rain soaked event.
At the end of a superb day, low scores , at leastby those at the sharp-end of the field, were expected and GrahamJarvis, perhaps also as expected, led the Champ-ionship class on theresults sheet, but that result went down to the fourth tie break asShaun Morris ended his day level with Jarvis on cleans and one marklosses. Neither of them dropped any two-mark penalties on the course,but Jarvis had one three-mark loss as Morris recorded one five on hisfirst lap. That result in marks lost had Jarvis on a total of six, butunder new rules, lap one had to be ridden in two-and-a-half hours, andGraham was two minutes late, adding two to his total.
The only failure for Morris - section eight on theopening lap and only cleaned by Lee Sampson on all three laps - costShaun the championship win as he recorded a single mark second lap, andthe only clean lap of the day on lap three.
