Honda 150 Championship resumes at Matterley
By Team TMX on 15th Jun 16
This weekend will see action resume in the Honda 150 European Championship as the series heads to Matterley Basin, UK for its second round of the season.
Although Hakon Fredriksen will have the red plate firmly attached to his CRF150R at the Winchester track, the Norwegian currently has the same points as 2015 champion Emil Weckman.
Weckman showed his strength at the first round in Germany taking the win in the first moto and will be keen to move himself up into the championship lead this weekend.
The two Scandinavians are closely followed in the standings by Yago Martinez (ESP) and Andrea Adamo (ITA), who sit third and fourth in the championship respectively, in addition to having the same points as each other.
In addition to the selected championship riders this weekend will also see two young Brits make their Honda 150 European Championship debut. Josh Peters and Todd Leadbitter will have the chance to race as part of the MXGP support race programme as wildcard riders aboard the CRF150R.
Throughout their weekend racing as part of the MXGP World Championship, the talent of tomorrow will continue to receive tuition and guidance both on and off the bike from Honda's motocross stars, as well as experiencing life in the Grand Prix paddock, offering a unique kickstart to their young careers.
The 11-14 year olds weekend will start with Saturday's Free Practice session at 0940hrs, before race one at 15: 25hrs and race two at 11: 10hrs on Sunday
