Round one of the BSMA GT Youth Cup national series was held at Wilden Lane Moto Parc, a venue that has a reputation of being able to run in all weathers.

A fantastic line-up of more than 300 riders were entered and the atmosphere was electric.

Racing started with the Autos who coped admirably with the full track.

James Hyett came out on top with three wins and a second place, while Louie Kessell had two runner-up places to claim second spot, just edging out Ike Carter by two points.

Lewis Pyne had a disaster in race two but finished off his weekend with a brilliant win in the final race which could improve his position in the next round.

Everyone was trying hard to achieve the Husqvarna sponsorship for next year.

Junior Harry Kimber carried on his good form from last year, gaining three super wins and a fourth in race two, which was enough to take first overall.

Harry Winchman started off his weekend with a win in race two and a couple of runner-up spots gave him second overall.

Brooklyn Evans rode consistently all weekend to claim overall third.

In the Small-wheel 85cc class maximum man Sid Evans was the star of this competitive group.

David Keet was his main rival with a house full of seconds. A real battle took place behind with Henry Siddiqui taking the final podium position from Michael Ellis by one point.

Ethan Gatenby, Tommie Scholfield and Alex Walton all battled for top six positions.

Next up was the Big-wheel 85cc class and Jack Gardner dominated with just one minor glitch in race three when fast-starting Alistair Evans hung onto the finish to spoil his maximum.

Jordan Bachelor's three runner-up positions gave him overall second.

Just three points separated the next three riders, Josh Coleman just pipped Conrad Mewse for third overall with Rob Holyoake fourth.

In the MXY2 class Alex Davies won three races on his way to top the group Jay Thomas and Zac Alsop finished equal on points.

Pre-race favourite Tommy Alba dropped the bike on the finishing line when well in front losing 14 places in the process.

Wins in races two and four still showed he's one to watch though.

Mason Law and Sion Talbot completed the top six.
