Is this the way to Llandrillo?

THE 13th round of the WOR Premiership series was unlucky, but only in terms of the weather. Set in the superb Llandrillo Forest, the course was battered overnight and early on Sunday morning by torrential rain and strong winds, which gave organiser Steve Ireland plenty to think about.

The original course ran for just over eight-miles through the forest and the surrounding fire roads but conditions dictated that a few changes be made. The forest sections would have damaged both the land and bikes so a shortened course was set, utilising fire roads and some of the less muddy tracks around the area but, as an added attraction, several water splashes were added to the course, just to give riders something to think about.

Experience is everything in the organisational game and Ireland put his vast experience to good use creating a course, which was rideable but challenging, without any ‘bike-breaking' sections.
