Triumph for Taddy at Indoor Enduro World Cup

Fresh from his victory in the AMA Endurocross Championship, KTM's extreme Enduro factory rider Taddy Blazusiak sent a signal to his rivals on Saturday night in Sheffield when he won all three races in the first round of the 2009 Indoor Enduro World Cup. The "Polish Prince" of extreme Enduro indicated he means business right from thepractice where he distanced himself from the other riders over the toughobstacle course in the Sheffield Arena by a massive four seconds. Then, in casethere was any misunderstanding about his intentions for this four-race winterseries he took the glory in all three heats. Blazusiak was runner up in lastyear's three-event series behind KTM factory rider Ivan Cervantes of Spain."Obviously I'm happy after winner all three races although I'm a bit tired fromthe US tour," Blazusiak told reporters. "I was comfortable with the track and mybike was flawless."
 
Great night for Mike Brown
AmericanKTM-supported rider Mike Brown also put in a very solid night's racing forsecond overall with two second places and on third in the three races to emergesecond on the podium at the end of what was a thrilling night's racing for thefans. Brown has just won the American title in the WORCS (World Offroad ChampionSeries). The American rider said he did not expect to be on the podium. "Thisrace was a test for me and I'll try my luck again in Genoa," he added. 
 
Cervantes off the mark
It was not such a positive start forCervantes who failed to get away well at the start of race two and had to settlefor a final 6-6-3 result and equal points in the final reckoning with Britishrider Graham Jarvis. "I lacked pace and made some mistakes, especially in thefirst two races," Cervantes said, adding that the track was a bit too fast forhis taste, even though he admitted it was good for the show of the event. 
 

Next race in Genoa
Increased by one round thisseason, the Indoor World Cup series is next in Genoa at the Palasport Palfieraon December 5 before heading for Spain for the two final rounds in Vigo (January9, 2010) and Madrid (January 30, 2010). Missing from the starting grid inSheffield was KTM Spain's rider Xavi Galindo who is in the last stages ofrecovery from a fractured tibia, the result of an accident will competing in theRomaniacs Rally in the summer.
