The WOR Premiership proved to be as popular as ever at the weekend when the 2010 series kicked off at Baden Hall, near Stafford. Many riders were just happy to get a ride following the long lay-off due the bad weather over the last two months.

Baden Hall had escaped most of the bad weather but constant rain in the days preceding the event meant there were more than a few huge pools of water, which turned to goo although the woodland sections were quite dry. Overall the course was tough but rideable, despite what you can see in the photographs.

The entry was good despite the fact that some of the riders who had booked-in failed to show up. Loads of late entries soon filled out the ranks.

This season's Premier-ship series has become slightly more polished with ten classes available to suit riders of all abilities. Each class is prefixed by XC, starting with XC-1 (the former Pro class), XC-2 is the old Expert class and so on. An Expert Vets class has now been added, XC-5, and proved as popular as ever with the old hands.
