IT MAY have been a touch on the cold side but with no rain or wind the conditions could not have been any better for the second and final round of the Maxxis Youth British Outdoor Supercross Championship on Saturday evening at the Norfolk Arena.

Word had obviously spread through the Youth motocross ranks since the opening encounter two weeks ago with increased entries across all classes for this championship decider, and with the track in near perfect fettle the race schedule ran to programme with two blocks of racing either side of an interval.

The Automatic class was set to be a three way fight between George Turner, Camlann McDonald, and Josh Bunter who were only separated by two points after round one. It was Turner who threw down the gauntlet to his rivals by storming to a first race win after overcoming the fast starting Jakub Teresak, one of a squad of riders who had made the long journey over from the Czech Republic. McDonald kept the pressure on with a fine third, while Bunter had to settle for fifth after a race long scrap with another of the Czech's, Mater Casek.

Teresak made full use of the second race holeshot to grab a win on British soil just ahead of Turner who was happy to take the runners-up spot and secure the title. Bunter forced his way through to third but could not deny McDonald, who was right behind him at the flag, second in the series

After a flawless display at the first round to take maximum points Robert Davidson managed to do enough to clinch the 65cc class honours but he was made to work for his silverware.
