Knight ends '09 BEC series with a win

Kawasaki Superbike Racing Team rider David Knight has brought his participation in the '09 British Enduro Championship to a winning close by topping the final day of the Natterjack Enduro.
The fastest rider on both days of the eventKnight suffered clutch problems on day one, which forced him out of thefinal results. On day two David was in dominant form and comfortablyfinished ahead of visiting Frenchman Christophe Nambotin.
Althoughdisappointed not to be a classified finisher on day one Knight recordedthe fastest special test times on all but the opening three specialtests due to a slipping clutch. Using the Natterjack Enduro as finaltraining ahead of the International Six days Enduro in Portugal in twoweeks, Knight was supremely confident on the fast, flowing motocrosstest and looked more than comfortable on the tight, twisty and inplaces technical enduro test.
Determined to make up for his dayone disappointments David started day two by topping the openingspecial test by 13 seconds. Going on to win each and every one of theremaining five other tests he ended the day 49 seconds ahead of hisclosest rival.
David Knight: "The first day was a disaster. Ilost my clutch half way through the first test but managed to get tothe end and only lost a few seconds. Pretty much the same thinghappened again on the second test. I won all of the other tests quiteeasily. It was good having Christophe Nambotin competing in the UK, itgave me someone to go for. We got the clutch fixed for day two and Ihad a great day. I didn't have any problem or make any mistakes. Iwasn't too keen on the enduro test before the event, but after it gotrough and rutted it was really good – great practice for the six days.I really enjoyed the second day. It's been about eight years since Ilast raced the Natterjack. Ending the British championship with awinning result, at an event where the sun was shining and the terrainwas dry, has been good.”
