Knight rider on a high!

Motocross

THE final round of the BSMA series was hosted for the first time by a very enthusiastic and hard working Coventry Club at a venue near Stratford on a natural track, well prepared and maintained to a high standard all weekend.

THE Junior group was once again dominated by Conrad Mewse who gained maximum points over the weekend. He was chased hard by the improving Albie Wilkie who finished runner-up on four occasions. David Keet, who was never out of the top four, finished a creditable third. Jake Deacon, not having his best set of results was always in contention and always on the pace with non series rider Henry Winchman battling hard just in front of Jake Curtis-Stevens and Dion Lewis.

Small-wheel 85cc rider Liam Knight was to finish the series on a real high, coping well with track conditions and able to handle the pressure from the chasing pack, winning four races, dropping just two points to runner-up Danny Lanfear, like Liam, a very quick and competent rider, never lower than third, with three second places and challenging Liam to the line in most races. Curtis Blamey, recently crowned BSMA champion, showed his potential with three excellent results but mistakes cost him dear in the other races. A heavy crash in race three spoilt Ben Beadle's weekend, but although bruised he managed to complete the programme. A real battle ensued for the junior positions with just a few points separating Dan Neale, Rob Holyoake and Jack Wilson, both Rob and Jack each dropping valuable points but improving as the weekend progressed in this very competitive group.

Arron Jenner didn't have such a good day on the track, crashing in race four, but had done enough to secure the Senior championship.
