Following another great ride by Jonny Walker in the Erzbergrodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble last weekend, KTM Motorsports is very pleased to announce that a contract has been signed with the British Extreme Enduro rider to stay with the Factory team until the end of 2017.

Walker followed up his trip to Austria's Iron Mountain with a visit to the KTM Motorsports headquarters. He already had a contract to ride for KTM through to the end of the current season and now this has been extended for an additional two years.

Jonny Walker: "I am super happy to be staying with the team for another two seasons. I'm going to continue to compete in the Hard Enduro events and also the FIM Super Enduro World Championship. It's great to know I have a job for the next years and now after some days off I'm going to be preparing for the Red Bull Romaniacs next month.”

Walker, whose philosophy is "To be the best you can and always give 100%” was one of four riders who were declared joint winners of the notoriously difficult Erzbergrodeo Hare Scramble last Sunday. The 24-year-old, who is also a Red Bull Athlete was also the outright winner of the Hare Scramble in 2014, where he crossed the finish line with a very dominant winning margin. He has also won the four-day Red Bull Romaniacs and the three-day Red Bull Sea to Sky Hard Enduro titles. Walker launched his 2015 season in style with a victory at Italy's Hell's Gate, and the UK's The Tough One.

Pit Beirer, KTM's Motorsport Director said he was particularly pleased to have Walker in the company's stable of riders for another two years. "Jonny has a great future and we're happy to be working with him for an additional two years. He's a winner in the most extreme Hard Enduro events on the racing calendar and he has talent, skill, stamina, endurance and dedication in a racing discipline that demands them all. Jonny's also a great role model for up-and-coming young riders, and his positive approach and hard work make him a natural candidate for our Factory team.”

KTM's Rally and Enduro Factory Team Manager Alex Doringer also underlined he was very happy to have Jonny onboard. "We've watched Jonny's progress and development over the past couple of years and it's been amazing. He's not only very fast but also hard working, both on the track and on behalf of our Orange brand. He has a great personality and he's also very popular with the fans. Jonny has a good future with us and we know and understand just how to prepare him for even more success.”
