For Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider Max Anstie the next Grand Prix will hopefully be something special. Anstie who has a four GP wins to his name would love to at the Grand Prix of Great Britain to his list.

It has been an up and down season so far for Anstie, with a handful of second place finishes in moto's, but also a bunch of DNF's, through bike issues or rider error.

Currently holding down ninth place in the MX2 series points, and just a handful of points off sixth spot in the points standings, you can be sure the Matterley Basin event will bring him higher up the rankings.

The highlight of the season so far was his 2-2 results in Latvia a month or so ago. On a circuit that he had picked up a GP victory, the British riders got it all together for a great second place on the podium.

"It was an awesome weekend for myself and my team,” Anstie said. "I worked really hard to build my speed and race consistency so it's rewarding to find myself on the MX2 podium. I have delivered some strong rides during the last few races but things didn't seem to go our way up until Latvia. It was nice to finally be able to put two solid moto's together and that was my goal for that GP. I felt like I rode two strong races and made some good passes.”

Anstie had a typical performance in France last weekend, with a crash dropping him off the pace in the opening moto, and then a runner-up spot to Jeffrey Herlings in moto two. His skills always obvious, and the results just not always there.

"The first race didn't go to plan,” Anstie said. " I didn't get a good start and then I crashed. Obviously I didn't have the best race in moto one, but came back a lot stronger in race two. We've made a few changes with the bikes in between the races and I think we made the right decisions. In the second moto I got the holeshot and had some really good battles with the top guys, making some great passes as well. I just finished behind Jeffrey, which was nice to get a little bit of confidence back. I'm happy with my performance in the second race and we can now go from there. It's a shame we've been a bit inconsistent but this second race was really good. We now head to my home GP and I'm looking forward to going back to Matterley Basin.”

Now onto his home Grand Prix, on a circuit that suits his style and with a round 40,000 people wanting a home rider victory, you can be sure Anstie will be pumped up to show what he can do.
