The Maxxis British Motocross Championship will head north of the border this season for the first time since 2011 with round five being held on July 3 at Leuchars, just south of Dundee.

The event, promoted by RHL Activities, is in defending MX1 champion Shaun Simpson's backyard and, naturally, the Scot is relishing the prospect of racing on home turf.
"It's been a long time coming,” he said. "I am really positive that the Maxxis have decided to come up north of the border and give it a proper go again and I think Leuchars is the place to do it.
"Leuchars is about 10 minutes from where I live so it's one of the tracks that I grew up on. I did a lot of the laps of my schoolboy career around there and I had my first ever schoolboy British championship win there in 2001.”
