MONTESA has surprised the trials world by launching a newly-developed, high- performance trials model designated Cota 300RR that has been developed by world championship riders Eddie Karlsson and Oriol Noguera
Both riders have been nailing some impressive results of late and Montesa claims this is an
all-new engine and the capacity of 288cc has been gained by using a big-bore (80mm) piston.
Also this top spec bike sports two performance map settings plus you can tune to your liking via a laptop.
The engine features an improved version of the crankcase compression release system introduced on the Cota 260 to help alleviate engine braking, a feature many riders brought up on two-strokes have appreciated.
Front forks are the latest all-aluminium 39mm Tech units, while the rear shock is by Showa plus you get Renthal Fatbars as standard kit.
There's also a trick-looking new four-pot front brake caliper courtesy of Braktec.
This 300RR has also been on a diet and a very useful claimed 2kg lopped off the overall weight.
The new model is aimed at experienced riders and is a surprise but welcome addition to the trials market.
