Nicholls to make Swede comeback

Wilvo Forkrent KTMs Jake Nicholls is set to make his first MXGP appearance in over a year this weekend at Uddevalla in Sweden.
Over the last 12 months the MX2 podium finisher has suffered two serious injuries that have sidelined him from the world championship following his move up to the premier MXGP class last year.
The first injury came in June 2014 when he almost severed the little finger on his right hand in a Maxxis championship crash at Skelder Bank. The injury brought his season to a premature end.
Then in February this year he broke the ulna and radius in his right arm when he crashed at a French pre-season international at La Capelle Marival. Complications with the healing process resulted in a longer than expected lay-off after his first attempt at a comeback proved to be premature.
"My wrist feels like new and I'm going to Sweden to try and score some points and get my level up which is pretty high considering the amount of time I have missed,” he said. "I'm feeling fit and really looking forward to be being back in GPs.”
The 25-year-old was getting close to regular top 10 speed in the premier class in 2014 – his first term outside of MX2 - until the finger injury, his best result coming in Spain with a sixth in race two. His last GP was in Germany just over a year ago.
After an attempt to make a comeback from his arm injury at rounds two and three of this year's Maxxis series he was forced to rest up but scored solid results at Sunday's fifth round at Blaxhall.
Nicholls' presence adds some badly needed new blood to the MXGP class with riders including Max Nagl, Ken De Dycker, Rui Goncalves and Clement Desalle either on the sidelines or waiting for late calls on their fitness to be able to compete in Sweden.
