Musquin update – Strasbourg here we come
By Alex Hodgkinson on 3rd Jul 09
KTM received authorisation to put two machines through technical control at Uddevalla for this weekend's Swedish MX GP for French rider and series leader Marvin Musquin. The legal dispute with NGS Honda will go to the French Supreme Court next week. Next stop after that could be the European Court in Strasbourg!
Soon after Technical Control opened on Friday morning, Musquin's KTM mechanic, Jon Primo, presented the Frenchman's machines, and, after authorisation from the Youthstream race office, they were accepted.
As each rider may only present two machines for inspection, Musquin would no longer be permitted to switch back to Honda this weekend even if he wished to.
Sources within KTM have indicated that the case will now be taken to the French Supreme Court next week, and, should this appeal also find in favour of the NGS team, consideration would be given to taking the matter to the European Court in Strasbourg.
After this weekend's Swedish GP there is a four-week gap to the next round of the World Championship series – at Lommel in Belgium, on the first weekend of August – but the weekend prior to that race there is the final round of the French championship series at Iffendic.
