The first weekend in July was for many years the date for the British 500cc GP and Cumbria Twinshock is keeping the tradition going with its annual King of the Castle event at, you guessed it, Farleigh Castle.

One of the most popular races on the calendar, this weekend's event at the iconic Somerset circuit has got a full house of riders spread across all the usual classes and will also feature rounds of the WME Pre-85 and Partridge Ventilation Pre-83 British 125cc Championships.

The CCM/Four-stroke racers will also compete for a very special bit of silverware – the Brian Wilson Memorial Trophy – in memory of one of the sport's staunchest supporters.

The weekend will kick off with a concours competition on the Friday evening and riders and spectators can look forward to supping potent apple beer in the Lilley's Cider Tent as well as live music on Saturday night.
