MX Nationals

The Motocross race season is about to get into full swing and one of the first major National events of the year will be the Michelin MX Nationals. The first round will take place at Preston Docks, on march 5 and 6.

The entry is packed this year and with racing on both days it is bound to be a fun packed weekend for all involved. Spectator prices are extremely well priced at only £10 for both days, kids 10 and under are free. That is 26 races over the two days for just ten pounds!

There are seven categories and classes to watch over the weekend and some of the best riders in the UK will be competing at all the events this year. The Championship has only been running for two years and they have become one of the best established and well run Championships in the country.

The full Buildbase Honda Racing team will contest the full MX National series, this year they have also signed Graeme Irwin and Martin Barr to add to Kristian Whatley, making the team a force to be reckoned with this year.

MX1 MX Nationals Champion in 2015 Kristian Whatley - "I can't wait to fully kick-start my season again. It's been a tough off season as I broke some bones in my foot so I've been waiting for that to heal. I've not had much time on the bike so I can't wait to get going and looking at getting off to a strong start at Preston Docks in a couple of weeks' time."

Runner-up MX1 2015 - Graeme Irwin - "It will be great to race at Preston Docks with my new team, Buildbase Honda Racing and I am looking forward to pushing for some more wins this year. The MX Nationals is a well-run series and I enjoy how their Championship is run. I just want to get going now and get the season rolling again."

MX Nationals rider representative and third place in the Championship standings last year, Martin Barr - "I'm really looking forward to getting 2016 started at one of my favourite tracks, Preston Docks with the MX Nationals series. The MX Nationals is going from strength to strength and I'm really proud to be part of it with my second year of being their rider representative. There is a lot of tough competition this year so the racing is going to be intense and very close, I can't wait for the gates to drop!"
