MXGB heads to Canada Heights for Round Two
By Team TMX on 15th May 25

Canada Heights near Swanley in Kent hosts the second round of the 2025 Motul ACU British Motocross Championship on May 18 on a revamped track that you just know is going to be prepped to perfection for the UK’s premier motocross championship. A real favourite with fans, huge crowds are expected on Sunday as the circuit will be bathed in late spring sunshine and temperatures will be a comfortable 20 degrees.
The on-track action promises to be much hotter, though, with the RFX 125cc class, MX2 incorporating JMR Under 21s and Apico MX1 division all enjoying two championship motos. Before we get to those, a bumper entry of MX2 riders – almost 60 as we prepared this – will need whittling down to 40 through two timed qualification sessions and the high-drama LCQ. Make sure you’re there bright and early to enjoy all the action, visit the pits and make a purchase or 12 from the many trade stands and eateries in attendance.
The racing at the opening round at Hawkstone Park was fast and furious with Bobby Bruce, Conrad Mewse and Ryan Waggott landing on the top step of the podium in their respective classes.
The RFX 125 class sees the return of pre-season favourite Jamie Keith (JK Racing Yamaha) who has had a torrid start to his season, having broken both collarbones, one after the other, in freak accidents. Will he return at full speed or be looking to ease himself in? In his absence at round one, Waggott too both wins with Hayden Statt (Yamaha), Freddie Gardiner (MGMX GASGAS) and Charlie Richmond (S Briggs Yamaha) scrapping over second. Chuck hard-charging youngsters including Harry Lee (723 Dirt Store Fantic) and Drew Stock (Yamaha) into the mix and it’s sure to be a great watch for race fans.
Young gun Bobby Bruce (DRT Bike It Kawasaki) did an MX2/ Under 21 double at Hawkstone Park with a 2-1 scorecard – Dirt Store Triumph’s Billy Askew taking his first-ever British Championship moto win in race two. However, a first-turn crash in moto one affected his overall score with teammate Tommy Searle bagging second overall. Those three will be in action again but also look out for SS24 KTM pairing Oriol Oliver and Gyan Doensen, ASA United GASGAS runner Ben Mustoe, Ollie Colmer (Chambers Racing KTM) and Charlie Heyman (SC Sporthomes Husqvarna).
Conrad Mewse (Crendon Tru7 Honda) was untouchable in the MX1 class after making two rousing rides through the pack following not-so-great starts. Chambers Racing’s Adam Sterry led both motos and was rewarded with a 2-2 scorecard while Josh Gilbert (Lexa MX) rounded out the podium with Jamie Carpenter (Crendon Tru7 Honda), Brad Todd (DK Offroad/ Bikesport Honda), John Adamson (Lexa MX) and Ben Edwards (Dyce Carriers KTM) also in the battle.
The Sidcup Club has been hosting events at Canada Heights since 1952 and it really is one of the UK’s finest off-road facilities hosting trials, enduro and motocross events. Situated on Button Street, Canada Heights can be found near the M25/M20/A20 Interchange. Find that and then pick up the signs for Brands Hatch so you’re headed southeast on the A20 but you’re not staying on it for long. You’ll go straight across one roundabout then Button Street is the next road on your left – drive carefully down the winding road with many blind bends and after a mile, you’ll arrive at the circuit which will be on your right. The post code is BR8 8DX.
