Newly crowned Trial World Champion, Toni Bou Repsol Montesa HRC today claimed victory at the ninth and final round of the 2007 FIM SPEA Trial World Championship, held in Sant Julia de Loria in the small principality of Andorra. Adam Raga Gas Gas took second place with Dougie Lampkin Repsol Montesa HRC coming third.

Following the cancellation of what was to be the final round of the 2007series due to be held in Belgium on the 23rd September, Bou entered this roundin the position where it was impossible for him to be beaten and was, bydefault, 2007 Champion. His day did not start in the best of fashions with a dabon the opening section, which his major rivals completed clean.

However he was to claim that mark back on section five of the opening lapdropping two where the remainder of the top riders all dropped a minimum ofthree marks. Despite dropping an uncharacteristic five on the tough thirteenthsection, this was to make no difference to overall scores with maximums beingrecorded across the board.

Despite dropping just eight marks in the first half of competition, Bou wasto finish the opening lap on a score of thirteen after picking up five timepenalties. With Raga dropping twelve marks on the lap and one further timepenalty, the pair were tied entering the second lap.

However, leaving aside the impossible section thirteen, which all ridersdropped five on, Bou proved exactly why he is the new World Champion, with justa single dab on the seventh section to finish the lap on a score of six toRaga's twelve to give Bou his ninth top podium place from eleven days ofcompetition.

With the Junior championship winner already decided and Champion, MichaelBrown - Beta electing to compete in the World class for this final round wherehe finished ninth, victory went to Alfredo Gomez – Gas Gas in his first everappearance in the Junior category. Gomez having already won the Youthchampionship class and also exercising his right to move up to the nextchampionship class.
