James Noble will be in action for the last time this weekend at the final round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Hawkstone Park.
The Whitby Warrior has decided to call time on his illustrious racing career and in future will be concentrating all his efforts on running the family business back in his home town.
James explained: "I've been racing bikes for over 20-years and have been lucky enough to ride at the highest level. I've always given my all and can look back and say I honestly did the best I could and that's good enough for me.
"I would have liked to stay with Steve (Turner) and the team for another year but it wasn't to be. I've really enjoyed the last year and a half and wish them every success in the future.
"I'll probably ride a couple of races next year and Steve has promised me a bike if I need one. I'll also be helping ‘Nez' (Nathan Parker) out a bit as he continues to move up the ranks so I'm not going to disappear off the scene altogether.”
Proppa.com team boss Steve Turner added: "It's sad to see James retiring at the relatively young age of 29. He's had a great career in motocross and I'm sure he'll have a great career in business. I've enjoyed working with James immensely. He is a true professional and has really helped with the team's progression.”
