Nunn but the best
By TMX Archives on 16th Sep 09

ONCE again, the MC Federation's Red Bull Pro Nationals had colour, vibrancy and drama. The Little Loveney Hall circuit at Wakes Colne was ripped and watered well, making it one of the most technical circuits of the year. The final round of the championship, which also incorporated round eight of the Fuchs-Silkolene two-stroke British championship saw 80 Pro racers, 120 Two-stroke racers and 5,000 race fans make their way out to be part of an awesome Super Sunday. On top of that, there was the opportunity to watch another awesome freestyle MX display. But it was the racing itself that again caught the eye and delivered.
Fuchs Silkolene Two-Stroke Championship
125cc class
Like the previous round at Pontrilas, Jonathan Pettitt was the man on song in the 125cc Expert class as he showed the youngsters a clear pair of heels to win all three of his races in convincing fashion, but it was Jim Davies who wrapped up the 125cc Expert championship with a round to go.
Both his and Pettitt's experience showed as young Lloyd Morgan was the only rider to put up a sustained challenge to both throughout the day but Jon rode to perfection to sweep all three motos.
Open class
PAR Honda's Scott Elderfield showed his love for two-strokes by bagging all three race wins. It was a tough day for Scotty as he also went at it in the Red Bull Pro Nationals, giving him five tough races to get through but he did with style and bagged the well earned overall ahead of series leader Mark Eastwood.
With all the recent developments regarding the MXDN team manager, the support shown to Mark was incredible as he was cheered around the track and applauded after his post race interview.
Red Bull Pro Nationals
MX1 class
The first Pro National race was a rip-roarer! James Noble and Stephen Sword had a coming together whilst battling for the lead early on and soon found themselves way back down the field. Martin Barr worked himself at the front of the pack on his MX2 machine but he then went down hard and retired from the race.
By now Nunn was finding his groove ahead of the likes of Elliott Banks-Browne, Scott Elderfield and Scott Columb. Noble however was right in the groove as he stormed back through to pass everyone who were in their own private battles for a well earned moto win.
MX2 class
The real action was the fight for the MX2 championship between Smith and Bradshaw. In the opening laps, Smith was tucked in just behind Bradshaw and doing enough but as the race went on Nev started to edge away. Smith knew the championship was his if he could just stay one place behind but Elderfield closing fast with Nicoli Larsen pushing him along.
