Our Jacks are still the top lads

Despite being beaten on the day, both the British series leaders Jack Sheppard and Jack Challoner continue to head the rankings in the UEM European Trials and Junior Cup series.
Like their World Championship counterparts, the contenders for the UEM titles converged on Montecretese, in the noth-east area of Italy for the penultimate round of their championships on Saturday.
Home riders Daniele Maunino and Matteo Grattarola headed the field in the main class while compatriot Giacomo Saleri, managed to keep the local supporters smiling with a narrow two-mark victory over Britain's Jack Sheppard in the Junior Cup class.
Brit Challoner didn't have the best of starts, picking up a pair of fives in the first two hazards, and had another poor patch with another two maximum scores in sections 11 and 12 to complete his first lap for a total of 27. He seemed to get his act together second time round the course, posting a lap two total of 12 and ended the day in eighth place overall.
