Frenchman Gautier Paulins MXGP title hopes suffered a severe blow last weekend when he crashed while practising at Lommel, sustaining a fractured vertebra and a broken rib.
The Honda HRC rider – currently 12th in the world championship – went over the bars and was struck by his bike. He was immediately checked by Dr Claes and, after initial inspections determined that the fracture appeared stable, was permitted to return home. He will continue to see his local specialist in the coming days to continue the assessment of his condition.
