THIS Saturday sees the biggest one day trial in the world when the Richmond club once again stage that awesome Time and Observation epic - The Scott.
Yes, the Yorkshire dales will present the challenge with a single monster lap of something like 70 miles of moorland to cover and a similar number of sections to complete.
And you can't skip round the sections because if you don't enter the Begins cards AND exit the Ends cards you face exclusion.
There's a monster entry of almost 200 riders ready to line up at Feldom Range, near Marske, and as ever, to be in with a chance of a good result riders have to strike a balance between speed on the moors and accuracy in the sections.
The speed merchants, looking to set Standard Time, which incurs no time faults, will include local stars Jonathan Richardson and John Sunter.
Sunt set fastest time last year and also in 2011 when the overall winner was – Jonathan Richardson!
For every minute that riders finish after Standard Time they lose a mark, which is why everyone has to go at a fair lick.
Finish 30 minutes after ST and that's an extra 30 to add to the observation score.
Winner
Last year's overall winner James Dabill is back to defend his title but this time looking to give the Vertigo factory their first Scott.
But his biggest problem is likely to be his Vertigo team manager and four times winner Dougie Lampkin.
Doug gave Vertigo their first Scottish Six Days win this year and will be all out to make it a memorable double.
Unfortunately last year's runner-up and 2012 winner Michael Brown won't be in action as he recovers from the horrific knee injury in the Japanese world round at the start of the season.
But there will be no shortage of challengers including Jonathan Richardson, Ian Austermuhle, Richard Sadler, James Stones, Guy Kendrew and Ross Danby.
And how about Welsh star Iwan Roberts who has really clicked this year with a British Championship win and took a debut win in the Lakes Two Day just last weekend.
Then there's Alexz Wigg, Sam Haslam and Ross Danby and young guns Jack Price and Billy Bolt.
If you are spectating expect the narrow lanes around Reeth to be solid with cars and vans so allow yourself plenty of time between sections.
And get hold of an official programme at the start which will not only advise you where to watch but also benefit the Scott Charities.
All the favourites are in like Underbanks, Reels Head, Surrender, Lay By, Grand Canyon, Whaw Bridge, Bridge End and final section Clapgate.
Thirsk Clubman Robert Hunter will get the 2015 Scott underway when he leaves the start ramp at 9am on Saturday and from then on, with riders speeding away at 20 second intervals it will be all go until the first rider home (not necessarily the fastest) – whoever that will be – crosses the finish line some six hours later.
