Preview: Judd Premier - Warmington Lane
By TMX Archives on 28th Jun 17
With a late change of venue, round four of the Judd Racing British Premier Cup series switches from Landrake in Cornwall to Warmington Lane, Cheshire this weekend.
That'll mean a lot of saved road miles for the majority, and with a Saturday evening hog roast and other entertainment on tap, good times await.
Over the course of the opening three rounds, Drew Anderson has been an absolute star as he tops the Junior 125s having won every single race. Mixed in with the Adult 125s, he's also been a constant scourge amongst them as he hits podium finishes.
In the Junior section Callum Beeken is running second in the series, 34 points behind Anderson with Thomas Andrew in series third.
In the combined Youth Rookie ranks, Josh Greedy holds a 43-point lead over second-placed Kurt Griffiths in the 250F section. At the previous round, Griffiths was on best form as the top points scorer, he'll be hoping to further close down the gap on Greedy in Cheshire.
Kieran Yorke could also be a serious threat at round four, he's in championship third, 59 off the top spot.
Having won all the rounds so far, albeit close between him and Preston Williams, Danny Clarke tops the 125cc Rookie standings 14 points clear.
Clarke and Williams have a more than healthy points advantage over the rest, it seems very much like a two-horse race for the title in this one.
Ethan Tollet is comfortable in 125s series third as Luke Taylor, Billy Wilson and Joseph Butler respectively, round out the top six in a close three -way battle.
In the Big-wheel 85s, there's a 30-point gap at the top as Judd Racing flier Ben Clark tops the standings ahead of Billy Carter in second.
Mitchell Raine is a further 16 points back in championship third. TM star Jack Grayshon, having returned from injury at the previous round, is also sure to be a contender for a podium place at Warmington Lane.
Others who could be challenging include Sam Atkinson and Alfie Rickwood.
Bailey Jonston is another upcoming talent to be found under the Judd Racing awning. After winning all three Small-wheel 85 rounds so far, he leads the championship chase, 61 points to the good over Leon Ongley.
Callum Murfitt is secure in championship third, but he'll be aiming to fend off the likes of James Barker, Jack Keenan, Cameron Box and Jaygo Beasty, whilst at the same time challenging for series second.
In the Junior 65s it's a Judd Racing rider once again who tops the pile as Ollie Colmer regained the series lead from McKenzie Marshall at the previous Fat Cat round.
Five thumping wins for Colmer did the trick as Marshall hit trouble in heat one ultimately dropping him down to series third.
Louie Vincent is the new occupant of series second, he's 23 points ahead of Marshall, and 33 off top spot.
Judd Racing pilots are also stand out in both Auto sections as Zane Stephens heads the Under 8 division whilst Archie Britton has his nose in front in the Under 7s.
At the previous round, suffering one blank result, Jayden Jones - the early rounds leader in the Under 8s - dropped down to second place. He's 13 points behind Stephens but a massive 70 in front of third-placed runner Harry Shand.
Just two points behind Shand, Aimus Peckam will surely be eyeing up series third for himself. In the Under 7's the series lead for Britton's is a mere three points as Hayden Statt piles the pressure on.
Tied on equal points, Harley Smith and Riley Loftus are locked in a battle for championship third, they're 43 points off the top spot.
