Report: Judd Racing Premier MX Cup - Final Round

Enjoying a Saturday night party atmosphere, and a Sunday afternoon trophy presentation Judd Racing MX Premier Cup wrapped up their excellent series at Sherwood pulling out all the stops.
Getting down to the business of who won what, in the Autos it was all to play for in both sections, and with 2017 KTM machinery up for grabs for both champions, it was tense stuff.
In the under sevens Archie Jay Girdham was in no mood for messing around and five straight wins landed him all the glory including the top points score trophy.
Zane Stephens fought bravely ending up as weekend and series runner-up as Alfie Cooper took third on the weekend.
William Haddock and Kalvin Kelly were the two amigos battling for top spot in the 50cc Under eights. However, it was disappointment for heat one winner Haddock as he came unstuck in heats three and four.
Desperately right out of luck, his championship was gone as three times race winner Kelly lifted the title. Weekend runner up Spike Stevens picked up the other heat win along with series third.
In the 65s Bailey Johnson powered his way to championship glory taking three more speedy heat wins as James Barker claimed the other two.
A season's best result from Barker meant he was runner-up at Sherwood hitting championship silver too.
Joel Fisher ended up with the championship bronze, he was narrowly edged out by Barker as Riley Keene scooped podium third at the finale.
Very much as expected in the Small wheel 85s, TM star Jack Grayshon wrapped it all up in super style with another series whitewash. Grayshon won his title finishing over 200 points clear.
Laying down his best result of the year Jago Beasty was runner-up, as Alfie Rickwood made third.
With BW 85s championship leader Calum Mitchell out injured the title was up for grabs and the finale turned into an Eddie Jay Wade, Lewis Wood, Danny Clarke and Declan Hunter tear-up.
Great shows from all four guys as wild card Jay Wade made it over the line first in four heats.
He suffered a highly contentious DQ in heat two, and more bad luck in heat five eventually dropped him to sixth overall.
Lewis Wood was the brilliant overall winner, five highly competitive races and one upgraded moto win did the trick for him.
Danny Clarke rounded off his championship taking the final heat win to claim second overall, more importantly though enough to make him MCF champion.
In the Rookwies, run away series leader Howard Wainwright took a heavy tumble in the Saturday opener, it mattered little though as his title was already assured.
After that and going 3-3-2-1 Wainwright took second overall as wild card runner Jed Etchells pocketed victory.
Team Green's Etchells nailed two wins and three second place results as Jake Curtis Stevens made weekend third overall, Jake also taking the series runner-up award.
New Yamaha convert Ben Burridge was a day one sensation running 1-2-1, day two was a tough affair though as he dropped back to fourth overall. In the championship stakes Harry Pritchard with another cracking display grabbed the series bronze medal as Jamie Osborne claimed fourth.
In the 125cc two stroke Rookies a brilliant day one show from Kurtis Griffiths put the skids under both Jack Wankling and Drew Anderson. Wankling and Anderson won a race each on day two as the title went to Griffiths.
With a just handful of points in it, the Adult 125 showdown between Ash Greedy and Corey Hockey looked a bit tasty.
However Hockey was a no show with machine problems, so it was fairly plain sailing for Greedy as experienced Danny Tollet claimed series second.
In a close fought section that always delivers, two race wins, second overall, and the championship went to Greedy.
Two scorching wins and third overall went to Troy Willerton as Corey Nemeth claimed the other win and the meeting overall.
Missing out on any chance of picking up the MX1 Clubman title, Rob Wood was also a big miss, he was out injured as two stroke flier Cody Ling took full advantage to win a British title for a second year running.
Wild card runner Lee Harrison claimed three of the Sherwood combined race wins, Joe Clayton nailed a brace as MX2 championship runners Sion Talbot and Jac Bas topped their respective sections.
With the pair always in the thick of it in the combined action Talbot was the brilliant Sherwood MX2 overall winner as a well earned MCF National title went to Bas.
