Ricky Johnson announced for VMXdN Foxhill appearance
By Team TMX on 11th Apr 22
The promoters for the inaugural VMXdN Foxhill are proud and excited to announce they have secured the legend (and we don't use that word lightly) Ricky Johnson to attend the event at the Wiltshire Grand Prix circuit to be held on August 27-28, 2022.
RJ was the original "bad boy" of the American SoCal scene and has won multiple national and supercross championships as well as many des Nations appearances for Team USA, including being one-third of the dream team at Maggiora, Italy in 1986.
He was a factory Yamaha rider in his earlier career but really rose to fame as part of the mighty HRC Honda racing squad in what many consider to be the heyday of the '80s and '90s.
In the days of the real superstars of the sport, RJ shone the brightest. Johnson was an inductee to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999 and then Motorsports Hall of Fame of America inductee in 2012.
Ricky will be coming with his wife Stephanie and they will be staying with our own national treasure Dave Thorpe in the run-up to the event - he will be on hand for autographs and photo opportunities, as well as having a few cold beers over the weekend. He will of course be riding the legends parade lap also.
Pre-sale tickets, camping passes and trade stands for the four-day event are available on the Event Brite website
There will be entry tickets on sale at the gate but we are expecting the camping availability to fill up early so please bear this in mind and book your places while they're still available.
