RIP Michael Alty - A life lived

It was very sad news to hear the of the death of British rider Michael Alty during the opening day of racing at this years International Six Days Enduro in France.
Michael Alty who rode for the Sheep Skull Enduro Riders Club Team sadly died at the end of day one. He was competing in the Club C2 category, aged 50.
Tributes have flooded in on social media from all corners of the globe from friends, family and also well know stars of the Enduro world.

The FIM issued the following statement...
Statement - British rider Michael Alty
It is with much regret that we must inform you of the tragic death of fifty year old Michael Alty (rider No.709) from Great Britain who was participating in the opening day of the 2017 FIM International Six Days Enduro held in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France.
It is suspected that this was as the result of an acute medical condition.
Michael Alty was attended to immediately by the event medical team.
Despite their best efforts to resuscitate him, he sadly passed away at approximately 17.30hrs local time.
The FIM, the FFM, and the COISDE wish to extend their condolences to his family and friends, and the ACU at this difficult time.
