Close finish for Bradshaw

NEV Bradshaw finished third overall at the final round of the British Two-stroke Championship at Foxhill and came within five points of taking the title from Mike Kras not bad considering he raced the first three rounds on a 2002 CR250 and then switched to a 1989 CR500 for the series finale.
"It's been a close-run thing this year but it was just for fun from the start," said the 34-year-old.
"It wasn't something I came in trying to win so to finish second overall and just five points behind - especially on that old Honda to start with and then today on the 500 - is pretty sick.
"It was something I wanted to do and I'm pumped I saw it through. We had a problem after qualifying and I almost went back to the 250 but we managed to get it sorted and I'm glad I stayed on the 500.
"I'd probably have had a better result on the 250 - with the more modern brakes you can go quicker - but while it would have been cool to win the championship it's not something I really chased."
Racing against modern machines, Nev's performance highlights just how good the bikes were back in the day - although not all the components are still as competitive as the engine.
