ROCKSTAR Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey re-claimed his grasp on the Monster Energy AMA Supercross and FIM World Championships after he took his third championship win at round eight of the series inside Atlanta's legendary Georgia Dome. Title contender Ryan Villopoto had a disastrous night with a big crash and could only grab two points after finishing in 19th overall.

Meanwhile, in the second round of the AMA Supercross Lites-East, Scottish born Dean Wilson was on top form to claim fourth overall following a nail-biting night where he dominated for the opening nine laps.

The night was electric as nearly 70,000 avid fans witnessed Dungey, the Suzuki rider, show that he was not going to let Villopoto stretch his lead in the series. As the gate dropped Dungey shot out of the gate to claim the holeshot award, followed by Honda's Trey Canard and Kawasaki's Villopoto. As the race progressed Dungey fought hard to open up a lead, but Canard, Villopoto and Ivan Tedesco hit back, not letting him out of sight.
