Brad has a Silver lining

THE 2010 Maxxis British Motocross Championship got under way at the Little Silver circuit amid rumours that a severe weather warning for the South West would put the meeting on hold.
After a burst of heavy rain early on Friday, the club made enquiries of the Met Office in nearby Exeter and, armed with a detailed forecast for Sunday, made the decision to go ahead with the event.
Thankfully, Sunday was dry and no further precipitation affected the area of the circuit and luck shone on the Little Silver club as it kicked off the series in style. A good-ish crowd turned out in the end to witness some great battles, which raged all day long, with the new three-race format of racing for the two Maxxis classes, and two races for the supporting British Ladies Championship.
In MX1, reigning British champion PAR Honda's Brad Anderson had to fight hard all day for his overall win with new man on the block, Evgeny Bobryshev, and the Russian's CAS Honda teamster, Gareth Swanepoel, who gave him a hard time from the start.
In the MX2 battles Zach Osborne overcame problems in race one – where the surprise winner was Graeme Irwin – to take the next two to claim the overall on the day.
