Tommy Searle is planning an action replay of his British Grand Prix triumph as he powers his Red Bull KTM into the opening round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championship at Donington Park on Sunday 9 March.
The Derby based teenager is looking forward to a return ride at thespectacular, high jumping, fast, twisting, purpose built course at theLeicestershire circuit: "It will be good to be back there, it is a good, fun, track to ride and these races are sure to be good and fast."
Searle has just penned a deal to take part and will be up against thereigning champion Mike Brown aboard the CAS Honda and other top riders includingthe Molson Kawasaki duo of Gareth Swanepole and Stephen Sword.
"I'm looking forward to taking them on and having won the Grand Prix on thatcourse am hoping for more success," reflected Searle. "I'd won races before thattriumph at Donington last August but not a Grand Prix. That was the biggest winI'd ever had, so an action replay would be really good."
He will also be taking advantage of building his knowledge of the coursewhich later in the year stages the Motocross of Nations (27-28 September). "Itwill be useful, though they may make a few changes to it before those races butI am delighted to be having this opportunity to ride Donington again."
Brown will be keen not to allow Searle to steal the show as he bids to beginhis new season with a victory, en route to retaining the crown, something thatis also high on the agenda of his team-mate Billy Mackenzie, the defendingchampion in the MX1 category.
Mackenzie will have nothing easy with a quality line up that includes MarkEastwood aboard the Wiseco Honda and the likes of Kenneth Gundersen on the UtagYamaha and Suzuki Swift Team rider Brad Anderson.
