His dad Willie won the first ever Weston Beach Race all the way back in 1983 and now Shaun Simpson can add his name to the winners roll of honour after dominating the 32nd running of the UKs biggest off-road event.
What a weekend it was with hundreds of racers tearing down the Somerset sands cheered on by thousands of spectators who made the most of the unseasonably mild conditions.
Gareth Hockey and his RHL Activities team had built a challenging track strewn with jumps and a massive uphill double and heavy rain in the days leading up to the event had formed into big puddles that made life interesting for competitors and spectators.
