The Shock Doctor/KTM GNCC Factory Team of Kurt Caselli, Nathan Kanney, Kailub Russell and Cory Buttrick were the first off-road factory race team to wear the Shock Doctor Eject Helmet Removal System when they showed up at the 6th round of the series this weekend with the safety device clearly installed in each of their helmets.
The Eject Helmet Removal System was designed to aid in the safer removal of ahelmet by pushing the helmet off the head after the upper spine has beenimmobilized. The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has made the EjectHelmet Removal System mandatory for all licensed professional riders in theirSupercross and Outdoor National Motocross Series. Likewise, the Indy RacingLeague (IRL) makes the system mandatory for all its drivers.
"I feelsafer knowing that the system is installed in my helmet. You never know whatcould happen racing and I know that if the worst happened this device couldpotentially save my life," commented Russell. "We have seen how the Eject HelmetRemoval System has helped riders in the Supercross and Motocross Series anddecided it would be wise to follow their lead and have our team wear the systemin the various off-road series. Our hope is that more participants will catch onand hopefully add the system to their helmets," stated Shock Doctor/KTM TeamManager Antti Kallonen.
Not only will the Shock Doctor/KTM GNCC riderswear the device, but so will KTM Factory riders in the National Enduro, WORCSand Hare and Hound Series. The Eject Helmet Removal System is a simple, ingenious device that is easy to install and operate. For more information onthis device please visit www.shockdoctor.com
