Rockstar Energy Suzukis Clement Desalle kept his pre-season win streak alive by absolutely dominating the Mantova Starcross in Italy.

The 25-year-old Belgian was unbeaten all weekend long, winning Saturday's MX1 qualification heat as well as all three of Sunday's mixed MX1/MX2 showdowns.

With many of the GP teams choosing to race in Lacapelle-Marival instead – and Clement's Suzuki team-mates MIA in Mantova (Kevin Strijbos has ongoing issues with tendonitis and Glenn Coldenhoff broke some toes in training) – his only real opposition came in the form of HRC Honda's Evgeny Bobryshev.

But while the #777 chased hard all weekend he didn't put Desalle under any real pressure in the main races – although he did beat the Belgian in Saturday's one-lap head-to-head dashes.

The weather was decidedly wintry come Sunday morning but that didn't stop a bumper crowd converging on the sandy facility that sits just to the south of the city.

A Superpole session kicked things off and Desalle showed his intentions early with a scorching lap of 1:47.697 – which was almost a second faster than Bobryshev who was a clear second.
