By TMX Archives on 12th Oct 04
Late autumn is the traditional time for the off-road show season and this year a whole new set-up in Telford sets the ball rolling DIRT BIKE Expo is the first show on the '05 calendar - October 28-31 - which means it will be the first place in the UK to see the majority of new off-road models from all the major manufacturers - Beta, Gas Gas, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha - in just one place. As well as the big marques sending their latest models most will also have added presence in the form of team riders and staff who'll be on hand to answer your questions about their '05 bikes and if you're lucky sign the odd autograph. The main stage area - which will be sponsored by dbr and Trials and Motocross news - will have daily fashion and celebrity chat shows hosted by Jack Burnicle. Britain's MX2 grand prix sensation Stephen Sword will be guest of honour and there'll also be a whole host of stars from the off-road world equally as keen to chat with Jack about their '04 season and their plans for next year. The retail zone at Telford will be jam-packed with some of the country's leading dealers who'll have the latest '05 gear on show plus some end-of-season bargains. dbr columnist Paul Edmondson is favourite to win the indoor enduro competition that takes place in the action arena while Steve 'Showtime' Colley will be doing his best to win the trials battle. There'll also be some minibike madness on a high-speed track that's made out of wooden obstacles. RTT Honda's Carl Nunn is just one of the big names who'll be battling it out on a CRF50. Every visitor has the chance to win a KYMCO KXR 50 quad worth nearly £1400 just by simply attending Dirt Bike Expo. It only costs £5 for OAPs and kids aged five to 15 (under fives go free) and £10 for adults - and that includes a free full-colour show guide. The show is open from 10am until 5pm Thursday to Sunday and the Telford venue will be AA signposted from junction four of the M54.
