Mark Eastwood proved that age and experience can be a match for youth and enthusiasm by winning round three of the SEMX championship run by the good people of the Sidcup & DMCC at the iconic Canada Heights circuit in Kent - Mark's favourite track.

217 mad, keen motocross riders turned for the club's usual allcomers race format. Four heat races are held with the fastest Junior riders mixing with the Expert riders in the A class. The next 40 go to the B group, then C and so on so every rider gets three races against similarly skilled competitors. To change things up a bit, there was the SE Evos event.

At the start of the first A group race it looked like Raife Broadley (Fantic) was going to have things all his own way all day as he led from the drop of the start gate to the chequered flag. Eastwood (Honda) kept him honest, with Ollie Beamish (KTM), Ryan Nock (Yamaha), and Kieran Clarke (GASGAS) chasing the lead pair all the way, as none of the top four did any overtaking.

Aaron Ongley (Kawasaki) passed a fast-starting junior, Harry George (KTM), on lap one and finished sixth. Levi Saunders (Kawasaki) was the first Junior to finish in eighth, followed by Harvey Pomphrett (Honda), who finished 10th in the race but was the second Junior home.

Eastwood turned the style in race two and led from start to finish. Clarke gated second but was passed by the leading Junior, Saunders, and Beamish on the opening lap, while race one winner Broadley didn’t get the start he wanted and rounded turn one in seventh place. He passed Beamish for second place at the halfway point and chased Eastwood over the finish line. Beamish hung onto third, while Aaron Ongley came from sixth to finish fourth.

Saunders was the first junior in seventh with Alan Pearce (Suzuki) over the finish line in 11th place but was second Junior.

In the third and final race, Eastwood got the holeshot again and led from start to finish, with Nock chasing him all the way. Again, Broadley didn’t get the start but came from ninth to end his race in third.

Once again, Saunders got a great start, but after running fifth for three laps, he crashed out and DNFed the race. Pomphrett was the first Junior home in eighth place, with Ryan Martin (Yamaha) three places behind him, but he was the second Junior home.

The expert overall result went to Eastwood by five points from Broadley, with Nock third. In Junior A, it was Pomphrett from Saunders and Pearce.

No one seemed to want to win Allcomers B. With two second places and a third, Grant Lambert (Husqvarna) took the overall from Francis Heather (KTM). Race three winner was Owen Wildish-Conway (KTM), while other race winners were George Ray (Honda) and Lee Baggs (Yamaha).

Only five points separated the top three in Allcomers C as race one winner Adam Pain (KTM) took the overall from Konnor Wilson (Fantic) and Haydon Andress (KTM).

The D group was even closer than C as the winner, Billy Hutchings (Yamaha), finished just two points ahead of Sam Turner (KTM). Dean Morgan (Husqvarna) was third.
