Max Anstie has urged British fans to turn out in their droves to support him and the GB MX of Nations team at Matterley Basin over the first weekend of October.

Star Racing Yamaha rider Anstie has been selected to represent Team GB in the MX2 class along with Tommy Searle (MXGP) and Conrad Mewse (MX Open).

Anstie is excited to return to the UK for the annual team event and knows first-hand how much time, effort and everything else team manager Mark Chamberlain had to put in just to get Star Racing to allow him to race.

Chamberlain had to agree to Star’s strict guidelines in order to get their agreement for Anstie to race.

Anstie said: “Props to Mark for actually doing it, like figuring it out. Mark’s figured it to get me to be there so it’s pretty cool. I’m excited.”

Anstie has urged race fans to check out the video of the 2017 MX of Nations at Matterley when he went 1-1 to win the MXGP class and also dig deep to support the team effort in any way they can.

“Go back and watch 2017 Matterley and if that doesn’t get you excited enough,” he said.

“I watched Tommy Searle’s vlog from VMXdN Foxhill the other day and it got me so gunned up and ready to come back and finally when Mark said that he’d organised everything and the team were happy.

“Honestly, I thought it was a long shot and I thought it wasn’t going to happen, especially with Haiden Deegan not going, with (Eli) Tomac not going.

“The team (Star Racing) are fully behind it, they’re supporting it, to have a strong British team it’s going to be awesome.

“Racing back at home at Matterley in front of the fans, the home crowd, the family, I don’t get to race at home very often and when I do it’s special and this is definitely going to be special on this bike too.”

As well as Anstie, Mewse and Searle the Team GB effort is being supported by some of the best British riders of all time, including world champions Dave Thorpe, Graham Noyce, Neil Hudson and Jamie Dobb and also Nations winners Kurt Nicoll, Rob Herring and Paul Malin.

Team GB is hosting all of these stars of UK motocross at a special dinner on October 4 and they will also be at the team hospitality marquee throughout the weekend.
