LANCS County MCC staged the third round of the national Normandale ACU Traditional Trials Championship on Saturday at Brookhouse Brickworks, near Lancaster, and were rewarded with a monster entry of 160 riders with many travelling hundreds of miles to take in this event and the following day's round at Bootle, Cumbria.
Amazingly, with two laps of just 20 sections, there was very little queueing involved thanks to splitting the entry, with odd numbers starting at section one and evens at section 11, but also because the sections were all rideable which led to a smooth flow of riders round the course.

BOOTLE SC completed a superb weekend ACU Normandale Traditional Championship double with a cracking 20-section, two-lap event on their excellent Fell Green venue overlooking the Cumbrian coast.
Almost 130 riders enjoyed a cold, clear day and all classes were competitive – except Air-cooled Mono where Chris Dixon, who posted lowest overall score of the day, dropped just five against the 19 of runner-up Kieran Hankin.
In the British Bike Class A, it was hats-off to Congleton rider Rob Boyer who piloted his rasping Triumph twin to class victory, overturing the previous day's Lancs County result which demoted local lad Carl Batty to second on his James. Boyer had the admiration of riders and spectators alike for his performance on a heavyweight.
