Si's matters at Upavon

THE Upavon club hosted the final round of the AMCA Sidecar-cross series at the Upavon circuit on Sunday. The day's racing not only crowned the 2007 AMCA Sidecar Champions but also the first winners of the AMCA Clubman's Series, contesting for the Marc Wolverson Challenge Trophy kindly donated by the Wolverson family in remembrance of a very talented sidecar driver.
John Wolverson and family presented the trophy at the end of the meeting.
Fog covered the track in the early hours of themorning and practice had to be delayed until the fog lifted, butsurprise, surprise, dust was kicking up by the end of the day!
Race one saw Banks/ Geraghty and Mann/ Burke headthrough the ropes whilst Bradford/ Morgan and France/ Machin headed offin first and second place and that's how they finished. Petty/ Evansand Grahame/ Friary closely followed but changed placed mid-way withGrahame/ Friary finishing third and Petty/ Evans fourth. Unfortunately,the most senior of the Grahame's, Alan, crashed in lap two and by thetime the duo got going, they were two laps down. France Senior alsosuffered a tumble three-laps from the end while holding fifth spot.
