Steel Hawk MCC ready to revive midweek motocross
By Team TMX on 24th Jan 19
Aiming to build on the huge success of last years inaugural Rock it til Sundown mid-week motocross, the Steel Hawk Motorcycle Club has wasted no time in getting entries out for its 2019 event.
The date is July 31 and the venue is Tincleton in Dorset with the track once again set to be primed, pimped and prepped by Justin Barclay.
Last year the team put the event together in just five weeks but this time around, with time on its side and with a supercross event also planned for the summer, the club is on the gas as it aims to top last years effort.
The format remains the same with qualification and three daytime races for 65s, Small and Big Wheel 85s (joined but scored separately), Rookie 125s and 250Fs (joined but scored separately), Adult Open and Vets. The top 14 from each daytime class then progress to the evening programme where the track gets cut in half and the Pro racers join in as they race for the huge Bob Lewis Trophy and big cash prizes in six-lap sprint races. The top four adults also join the Pro ranks for the evening.
The event is once again sponsored by CJT Mechanical Services with plenty of other sponsors being lined up to ensure a big prize haul in every class. Entry prices are being kept the same as 2018 with 35 for 65s and 85s and 40 for Rookies and Adult Open. The event is being run under the jurisdiction of the MCF and day licenses will be available for 10. Transponders will also be available to hire.
Admission is just 5 with new spectator areas being planned to make viewing more accessible for everyone. To enter go to www.goracemx.com and click on the Book an Event tab. For more details check out the clubs Facebook page.
