Shaun Simpson had a difficult day ontrack as he lost the front end in race one giving the lead to Sword andfinishing second. In race two his chain came off and he followed that up with acrash. He finished in fourth place which was enough to keep him in the pointsand at the head of the Championship.
Mattis Karro on the MVR-D Suzukitook third in race one while Pascal Leuret on the MAR Racing Honda came secondin race two ahead of Jake Nicholls on the Red Bull KTM who grabbed thirdplace.
Sword said: "I was just trying to race my own race as the trackwas more difficult second time round. Shaun made a mistake so I just had to leadand watch the gap behind me. The first race was tough but that is what we trainfor. We now have a busy few weeks with the GPs but I'm happy with my bike and myteam so I'm sure it will go well.”
Simpson said: "I had a good start anda little lead, I felt comfortable as Stephen was two to three seconds behind. Iwent for the gas coming out of a corner and there was nothing there as my chainhad come off. So I got it back on and was coming through when I hit the back ofMartin Barr and went down again. My brake lever was bent down but I knew I hadto keep going and get some points. Next time I'm hoping for better luck. Myspeed is fine I just need to stop making silly mistakes.”
The next roundof the MX2 ACU Maxxis British Motocross Championship will be held at Brampton inCumbria on Sunday 3rd May.
