A special buzz still pervades Low North Park, Harwood Dale when Scarborough DMC hold their Youth Two Day Trial.
This last weekend, families, sons, daughters, dogs, mini bikes and anything else that would cram into car boot, motorhome or tent travelled to this tucked away venue near the East Coast, bringing the entry to over 100.
And I'm told it wasn't just for the entertainment value in the big marquee.
Glorious weather prevailed and Sam Yeomans, contesting this year's expert class in the Keedwell British Championship topped the adult hard course with a fantastic ride to beat Richard Mellon and Scarborough's favourite son Gary Collinson.
But this weekend is about Youth – not that Yeomans is old – and rising stars Jack Biggins and Keiran Child dominated Youth A and B classes, while Jack's younger brother Adam cleaned up in Youth C.
Traditionally Saturday is an easier day, but only Charlie Bawden remained clean to lead his class overnight. Jack Biggins hit trouble on section four with seven lost and Child's only loss came with a solitary mark on the very last hazard, as Joe Faunthorpe dropped off the pace with five lost on the fourth.
