Tixier disappointed to miss Argentina GP

Reigning MX2 World Champion Jordi Tixier has spoken after being sensationally banned from participating in the third round of the 2015 series, the Grand Prix of Argentina on March 29th, after an altercation with a medical staff in Thailand last week has led to an FIM penalty and a one month suspension from competition.
The governing body issued a press release last Friday claiming that Tixier's actions were ‘considered unacceptable behaviour and in breach of the FIM Motocross World Championship Regulations.'
Tixier crashed only metres before the finish line in the first moto in Nakhonchaisri in temperatures that reached almost forty degrees and had to be treated trackside and then in the medical centre for heat exhaustion. The CLS rider was one of several to require attention even race winner Jeffrey Herlings needed supervision around the podium area. Upon learning he would be unable to take to the gate for the second moto start Frenchman apparently remonstrated with the local doctors.
The FIM refused to condone or accept the 22-year-old's behaviour, even in the extreme circumstances, and also rejected an appeal by the rider and the team.
"In my whole life I never punched somebody and since 2010 and when I came to the GPs I have always behaved correctly and never made any trouble,” Tixier commented to us exclusively. "In Thailand it was really hot and after thirty-five minutes I could not control my body and my head anymore. When I felt better I was sorry and also to the guy.”
"I'm really disappointed about the penalty and I don't think it's fair,” he added. "I feel really bad now. At the moment I'm even thinking about stopping my career because I'm really disappointed about that.”
Tixier is currently twelfth in the MX2 standings and 65 points behind former team-mate Herlings who has won all four motos. He will compete again at the Grand Prix of Trentino (Italy) on April 19th.
