There were times during the 2014 MXGP season when it looked as though the hounds might be closing in. But by the end of the campaign Tony Cairoli had, for the sixth year in succession, proven that the Sicilian is still top dog in World Motocross

TC#222, having refreshingly thrown off the corporate image he adopted a couple of years back, was the first to admit that he is no longer the fastest man on two wheels with the SX350F on every dirt surface.

But his gritty determination and overwhelming will to win still saw him top the podium nine times in 17 GPs to clinch his sixth personal and KTM's fifth consecutive title in the world's premier off-road series.
