Lancashire Twin-shock Club rose from the ashes of last year, by hosting a superb event for the fourth round of the Toughsheet National Twin-shock MX Championship on Sunday, at Eskham House Farm, Garstang, near Lancaster.

Overnight rain meant the track was in prime condition at the popular twin-shock friendly track, and the club had added an extra grassland loop, to test the 160 riders on the long course.

First to the line were the MD Racing Over 50 and Over 60 classes with a split start.

Event sponsor Phil Martindale led the way in the Over 50s, doing battle with Alan Eaves in the first two races.

Eaves took control of both legs to win from Martindale each time with Alan Bott third.

In the final encounter Eaves had to come from dead last to fourth at the flag, leaving Martindale to take the win and the overall.

Bott finished third overall ahead of a rejuvenated Terry Connor.

The split start meant the Over 60 knew who they were racing against, and two of the three wins went to Husky-mounted Alan Hambridge, who took the overall with a fourth in the other moto.

His nearest challenger was Phil Wilkes, and Toughsheet sponsor John Mercer, who won the second race.

The top three in the Falcon Shocks 250cc class were separated by just a single point, with the decision going to Irishman Jonathan McBride, who posted two wins.

Although level on points, Steve Rowlands had a lower finish in the last race and had to content himself with the runner-up spot and a point further back was Paul Croxon.

Jacob Joyce was star of the show in the Yorkshire VMX 125cc Evo class on Steve Clitheroe's beautiful Honda, and he took three comfortable wins, each time from Richard Chinn, with Peter O'Neill third.

Twin-shock 125cc winner Sean McCrea continued his season-long battle with John Davis and with all three wins to his name pulled back vital points in the series chase to now trail by just six.  Chris Rowlands posted three third places.
