Tuck fries 'em at Pateley

John Tuck and Matt Sparkes rode to a stunning victory in the ninth round of the Challenge Lusky British Sidecar Championship at Pateley Bridge on Sunday, leaving Rupert and Chris Kimber to fend off Robin and Sam Luscombe by a dab.
The Bristol pair shrugged off 36 Mel Harrison sections that tracked the Nidderdale Valley, to end the day 36 marks ahead of the ever-present Kimbers who in turn closed the standings to the Luscombes.
Tuck and Sparkes cleared ten Cockhill Mines sections – streams and climbs included – for just seven marks.
But the Luscombes started in the worst possible style when they ‘lost' the engine at the top of the first section after climbing the double-step that tripped up many others.
"We did that last year, same section, same area,” said Sam Luscombe.
That failure ignited the Luscombe touch paper though and they cleaned all the beck sections in the east end of the moors.
