UK release date set for Ducati Desmo450 MX
By Team TMX on 5th Mar 25

The understatement of the weekend coming out of the MXGP of Argentina came from Ducati whose PR machine started the Aruba.it team release with “2025 MXGP season gets off to a good start”. Good? Good? Try effing amazing as the Borgo Panigale-built bikes holeshot both MXGP races and team riders Mattia Guadagnini and Jeremy Seewer went on to finish fourth and sixth in the opening moto with Guadagnini repeating the feat in race two while Seewer recovered from a turn-one crash.
Guadagnini’s podium near miss is his best result in years and shows that he’s truly comfortable with the Ducati Desmo450 MX. As his confidence grows on the new machine, he’s surely equipped to make many trips to the podium this year – and Seewer too.
Most pit pundits were surprised by how well the Ducati riders performed in their full-time debut as an MXGP team and you’d have to expect that they’re only going to get better as the season progresses. Neither Seewer nor Guadagnini have been prolific winners in their careers so far and that needs to be remembered too and makes us wonder what a genuine world-beater could have done with that bike on that track.
On the back of those awesome results, news broke that the new Ducati Desmo450 MX is almost ready to be released to the public with a June delivery date set. The bike will be available from selected dealers - Ducati Cambridge, Ducati Leeds, Ducati Preston, Ducati North London, Chris Walker Motorcycles, GT Motorcycles and Millsport Motorcycles -with an RRP of £11,245. Dealer contact details can be found via the dealer locator on Ducati.com.
Also new for 2025, is the launch of a new Ducati MX Experience together with Barry Johnson, one of the leading figures in the sector. Johnson, having organised schools for various brands over the last 20 years, is expected to open the doors to the new Ducati MX Experience from July until November at various local sites. Bookings will open soon on Ducati.com.
Ducati claims that – “This is just the first step in the evolution of Ducati history in motocross. After a successful season in the Italian Prestige MX1 national championship that saw the debut victory of Alessandro Lupino in Mantua, to the final title clinch in Pietramurata, Ducati continues its racing development by officially entering the Motocross World Championship for the first time.
“This MXGP 2025 operation will be managed by the new Aruba.it - Ducati Factory MX Team, which will rely on experienced riders such as Jeremy Seewer and Mattia Guadagnini. The Desmo 450 MX is an innovative motorcycle, and the only one in its class equipped with the desmodromic valve control system, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
“At the same time, the Ducati Corse R&D - Factory MX Team will continue pursuing its development program for the following step of the Ducati MX Project, focusing on the new Desmo250 MX prototype that will take part in the Italian MX2 Championship. Alessandro Lupino, the factory rider, will work alongside the MX legend Antonio Cairoli in order to create the best possible base for the future production version of the 250MX.”
