Well Parke'd!

THE Parker Brothers from Preston Gary and Jem were in tremendous form in winning two classes each at a truly memorable Blencarn Scramble, attrac-ting almost 150 riders to a first class venue which, despite the gloriously hot weather, remained dust-free throughout Sunday.
Gary took the victory in the Over 40 class from Scotland's Derek MaCauley and Peter Jackson on his heavyweight BSA Goldstar and he also charged through the field in great style to snatch victory on the very last lap from local star Gary Sowerby in the Twin-shock Handicap – the final race of the day – despite riding a borrowed machine.
Meanwhile, Jem Parker and his Husky took the Pre-77 class from the Scottish pair of Glen Wilson and Steve Cornall and he also won the Under 40 (age) category from young Chris Chell from Stoke-on-Trent and Derbyshire's Andy Camm on his flying little 250 Cheney BSA.
Another double class winner was the redoubtable Terry Challinor on his Triumph Metisse. He won the Pre-65 over 350cc class from a very tenacious Phil Edwards and Chris Chell, and also took the Over 60 victory ahead of Mike Barnes who was riding John Bethell's CCM following machine trouble with his own machine.
