THE second round of the MCF National Supermoto Championship at Three Sisters was sponsored by Alan Bott of Pemberton Tyres, who provided trophies for both days racing and spot prizes of tyres and cash prizes on Easter Monday. The whole weekend benefited from brilliant Easter sunshine leading to favourable track conditions, which gave rise to some really close racing and entertainment for the spectators.
MALACHI Mitchell Thomas had a really good weekend in the Youth class though Joe Collier benefited from a fall by Malachi to claim the first win. Collier claimed the second win and although Malachi took the lead in the final race, Joe's determination paid off as he took the final win of the day with Malachi in second. Both riders went on to finish respectably in the 250cc class

LEWIS Cornish had the best start in race one but Lee Rudd was determined to keep him in his sights and as these two forged their way through the 450cc pack only three-tenths of a second separated them as Lewis passed over the line.
James Moore did really well in third spot with Robert Hartley in fourth.
Moore tried hard for the lead in the second race but Cornish once again dominated the 250cc category. He rode a faultless race, again chased hard by Rudd. Cornish not only won the class, but was first over the line in front of the 450cc riders, despite the staggered start. Moore secured a third place finish once again in front of Simon Bentley.
Moore led the restarted final race, but Cornish convincingly won his third 250 race of the day. Rudd challenged at every opportunity but had to be happy with three second place finishes each time ahead of Moore.

JAMES Addy led a hungry pack into the first 450A group race with David Hartley, Andy Mitchell and Richard Sharp all in contention.
Addy came under pressure early on from Hartley, leaving Mitchell secure in third spot.
In the latter stages Addy led Hartley and Mitchell. Hartley started to challenge in the penultimate lap and when it looked like it couldn't be done he crept over the line one-hundredth of a second in front of Addy.
Mitchell held firm in third and Lee Williams got the better of Richard Sharp to take fourth place.
In race two, Hartley pushed to the front, followed by Addy and Mitchell.
Addy managed to get the better of Hartley in the latter stages coming out of the dirt section, and Mitchell grabbed second place while Richard Sharp fell in the penultimate lap, leaving George Clements to take third spot.
In the final race Mitchell lead but Addy began closing in, while Hartley closed in on Craig Venske.
Disaster struck when Addy fell in the dirt section, leaving Venske battling Mitchell for the front spot. Venske took advantage as the race neared its conclusion, and having gained enough ground passed Andy Mitchell.
After three position changes Venske won the final race, with Hartley second and Mitchell third.

JAMES Addy had the lead Group A race one and though Andy Mitchell momentarily had second spot, Craig Venske slipped through early on lap one and started to pressure Addy.
Venske pulled a fantastic move coming out of Lunar Bend to take the lead, then Mitchell grabbed second spot again before Addy immediately reclaimed that position. Despite all three trying hard, these positions remained unchanged to the finish.
Addy led race two until lap the secoond lap when Venske pulled a move and took the lead to secure his second win of the day. Alan Bott had third place and held firm for over half race distance, before Carl Shield then Andy Mitchell came past.
Mitchell forced through to second almost straight away.
In the final race Addy was determined to take victory and although Venske never stopped pressing James made no mistakes and claimed the final win of the day. Mitchell was third, while Richard Sharp made up four places over the race distance to pass Chris Walker and secure fourth place.
The top four riders from each group in the final race were invited to have a reverse race for cash prizes sponsored by Pemberton Tyres, with 150 for first place, 100 for second and 50 for third.
David Wiseman led the race as the Group D riders were first off the fine, followed by the other classes. Wiseman clung onto the lead for the five-lap duration, as James Addy battled through from the rear of the pack to claim the second spot, with Ian Yates from Group C securing cash the third.
